Inspiring events

Marjolein Baghuis regularly speaks at sustainability events. Here is a selection of upcoming and recent events.

Kellogg Graduate School of Management

In May 2024, Marjolein attended her Kellogg MBA reunion. While she was there, she was interviewed by current students about integrating sustainability into their careers. Read more about that session here. She was also honored to speak in an alumni panel about serving society through teaching, public office, and leadership roles in NGOs.

“I love your focus on how we can all embed sustainability within our work.”

NCD NED Circle

On May 14, 2024, Marjolein lead an interactive workshop with non-executive directors about their role in driving corporate sustainability. Leveraging extrinsic drivers such as legislation as well as fueling intrinsic motivation. Read more about that workshop here.

“Thank you for your inspirational and valuable contribution.”

Nyenrode Reward for Life Summit

Legislation and customer demands can make you feel that sustainability is about compliance, risks, and requirements. But it doesn’t have to be that way. At the Nyenrode Business University Reward for Life Summit in May 2024, Marjolein shared how you can use focus, connection, and courage to turn sustainability into a source of inspiration.

Sustainable Impact Program for Insurance Companies

Insurance companies play a large role in driving the transformation from a linear, unsustainable economy to a more sustainable, circular one through their products and assets under management. In October 2024, Marjolein co-lead a two-day program, during which insurance professionals explored how to contribute to this transition. More information about this event is available on the Nyenrode website.

Certified Chief Sustainability Officer course

Marjolein taught a class on sustainable governance in this course for (aspiring) Chief Sustainability Officers. The Spring 2024 edition of the program was so much fun that we’ll repeat it in the fall of 2024! For more information, check out the Outvie website.

“Ms. Baghuis is so inspiring! Her way of teaching is very interactive.”
